First 48 hour of 2024
So having got all the diy done at home, I finally booked in a session down the syndicate.
Buzzing to go and armed with a new bait from @seasonedbaits that I’ve had soaking for 48hours, I loaded the van and set off at first light.
Arriving at the lake with only 1 other on,I took a walk to see if I could see anything.
After waiting and talking to the only angler on,I saw two quick shows and a third 10mins later.
By this time I had made up my mind and headed for the back of the wind where these shows had been.
Back to the van to get the kit and back round to my swim.
2 spots found and rigs ready,I baited these two spots with different boilies on each spot over the next 36hours.
Going into the last night and nothing to show for my efforts I decided to sit on my hands and just wait after seeing a couple of good fish come out.
Morning came round with no shows I just sat watching and hoping something would show.
Just about to make my third coffee of the morning and a single bleep to a full one tone my left hand rod was away.
A strong solid fight with the fish staying deep I had to keep the rod tip high to keep the fish away from the bars.
After a 10minute battle I managed to slip my first fish from this place over the net cord.
Rig out, rod clipped and back on the spot.
The fish was resting in the net.
A quick weigh and photos done, the fish was released and my first fish was a nice clean 30lb2oz mirror.
Kettle back on and a look over the photos I was happy with what the weekend had produced and packed down.
Fish caught on @dsdtackle endtackle with Ronnie rigs fished with match the hatch pop-ups and 3kg of @seasonedbaits the Fource boilies
Great start for the syndicate and buzzing to have one on the new bait.
